Matt Jensen enters his sixth season as the Collegian’s Owner and General Manager, and brings a wealth of baseball and business experience to the team.
Jensen’s coaching experience included time with Boulder, Niwot, and Erie High Schools as an assistant before taking the Head Coaching position at Monarch High School from 2010-2011. As a player, after redshirting a year at Dakota Wesleyan University, Matt transferred to Butler County Community College in 1999, and then again to the University of Northern Colorado in 2000. In 2001 Matt took an internship with Kroenke Sports Entertainment at the Pepsi Center, working with the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets. After graduating from UNC in 2004 Matt took a job outside of Kansas City writing sports for the Bashor Sentinel. He also has experience in professional baseball as the Clubhouse Manager of the Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati Reds AA) during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
Matt graduated from Boulder High School in 1998 and enjoys the active lifestyle that Boulder has to offer with his wife Diane and daughter Natalie. Matt is formerly the President of the Bolder Young Professionals, a Boulder Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, the Events Coordinator for the PLAY Foundation, the Professional Development coordinator for the Next Young Professionals, a former member of the Leadership Fellows program and the Vice President for the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. Matt also enjoys a career as a Realtor with WK Real Estate, in Boulder county. In 2014, Matt was recognized as one of Biz West Magazines Boulder County top 40 under 40 young professionals, and in 2017 as a Boulder Chamber Champion, as well as awarded WK Real Estates Rookie of the Year honor. Matt is also an avid Buffs fan, and a season ticket holder for Buffs Football and Basketball.
